CarRepairs.com is an independent car repair price guide. This page explains what information we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and in plain English.
What we collect
- Information you send us. If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you write in your message.
- Basic usage data. Like most websites, our servers and analytics tools record things such as the pages you visit, your browser type, device, approximate location (city or region) and the site that referred you. This data does not tell us who you are.
- Cookies. We use small files called cookies to keep the site working, to measure which guides are useful, and, where we show ads or affiliate links, to let those partners count visits and purchases.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we never ask for payment details, your license plate or your VIN.
How we use it
- To answer your questions and messages.
- To understand which guides people read, so we can improve them and write new ones.
- To keep the site secure and working properly.
- To show advertising and affiliate offers that help keep the guides free.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the details you send us for marketing without your permission.
Analytics, advertising and affiliate partners
We use or may use services such as Google Analytics to measure traffic, and advertising or affiliate partners (for example, parts retailers or warranty providers) who may set their own cookies when you view an ad or click a link. These companies have their own privacy policies. You can learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Some links on our site are affiliate links; see our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some features may not.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and manage personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information you have sent us by emailing hello@carrepairs.com.
California and international visitors
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to ask us to delete it, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of it. We do not sell personal information. If you are in the European Union or the UK, you have similar rights under the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion and objection. To use any of these rights, email us and we will reply within a reasonable time.
How long we keep it
We keep messages only as long as needed to reply and follow up, and usage data only as long as it is useful for understanding how the site is used.
Children
CarRepairs.com is meant for adult drivers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
